Coast Guard Day

Coast Guard Day is celebrated to honor Coast Guard members. This day commemorates the soldiers of the coast and their heroic deeds.

Coast Guard Day is celebrated on August 4 every year. However, in some countries the day is also celebrated on other dates. In Pakistan, this day celebrated on 8 September each year.

Just as Coast Guard members from different countries provide security to coastal people in normal times, they also rescue and assist them in times of danger. So the Coast Guard is the best friend of the coastal people.

Coast Guard members saved about 33,500 lives during Hurricane Katrina. Of these, more than 24,000 people were at serious risk.

Also other hurricanes, cyclones, floods, tidal surges, etc coast guard members free people from risk with their best. So the day is celebrated in various ways to recognize their work, respect family members, and honor these risky and heroic deeds.

History of Coast guard Day

Coast Guard Day begins in the United States. Alexander Hamilton introduced this day. The day was introduced in 1790 to commemorate the establishment of the US Coast Guard’s revenue marine account.
